NDACC Steering Committee Updates

 

There have been a number of changes to the NDACC Steering Committee, based on actions taken during the October 2019 NDACC Steering Committee meeting, as well as recent events.  Those changes are detailed below.  We welcome the newest members of the Steering Committee; we congratulate the recently re-elected members, and we thank the departing members for their years of service and contributions to NDACC!

Co-Chairs

  • Martine De Mazière was re-elected unanimously to another three-year term, through 2022.

Working Groups

FTIR Working Group

  • Thomas Blumenstock stepped down as Co-Chair at the IRWG meeting in June 2019.  Emmanuel Mahieu will succeed Thomas for a three-year term, through 2022.
  • The IRWG meeting previously scheduled for 2020 has been postponed.  As a result, Jim Hannigan’s term has been extended through 2021.

Lidar Working Group

  • The Lidar Working Group meeting previously scheduled for 2020 has been postponed until 2021.  As a result, Wolfgang Steinbrecht’s term has been extended through 2021.

Microwave Working Group

  • Gerald Nedoluha has been re-elected to another three-year term, through 2022.

Sonde Working Group

  • Bryan Johnson’s stepped down at the end of his term in 2019.  Ryan Stauffer will succeed Bryan for a three year-term, through 2022.

Spectral UV Working Group

  • Raul Cordero has been re-elected to another three-year term, through 2023.
  • Gunther Seckmeyer has been re-elected to another three-year term, through 2022.

Theory and Analysis Working Group

  • Susan Strahan has agreed another three-year term, through 2023.

Cooperating Networks

BSRN

  • Christian Lanconelli has agreed to serve as the BSRN Representative to the NDACC Steering Committee.  He also agreed to Jim Hannigan and Gunther Seckmeyer representing NDACC to the BSRN.

PGN

  • The NDACC-PGN Cooperating Network Agreement was finalized in June 2020.  Barry Lefer and Angelika Dehn (also ESA / ESRIN Representative) have been named as PGN Co-Representatives.

Emeritus Representatives

  • Geir Braathen’s was moved to Emeritus status when he retired from WMO.

Peer and Ex Officio Representatives

  • Sang-Sam Lee has accepted our invitation to be the Korean Representative.
  • Hideaki Nakajima has accepted our invitation to be the Japanese Co-Representative.
  • Stoyka Netcheva has been named as Geir Braathen’s successor as WMO / GAW Representative.
  • Brian Vasel has succeeded Russ Schnell as NOAA GML Representative.
