Second LOTUS workshop held in Geneva

The second SPARC/WMO Long-term Ozone Trends and Uncertainties in the Stratosphere (LOTUS) workshop took place in Geneva, September 17–19, 2018 (expired address - events.oma.be/indico/event/56/overview).

About 30 participants gathered to discuss open issues remaining after publishing the SPARC/WMO LOTUS report that was aimed at providing timely input to the 2018 Ozone assessment.

Several topics were addressed during the workshop, including further development of tools for trend analyses, planned updates for current and new ozone data records, optimization of the LOTUS regression model for ground-based records and records in the lower stratosphere, estimation of correlation between trend estimates. The preliminary reference to the report is SPARC/IOC/GAW, 2018: SPARC/IOC/GAW report on Long-term Ozone Trends and Uncertainties in the Stratosphere. I. Petropavlovskikh, S. Godin-Beekmann, D.
