Multiple Species

A. Bais, D. Karagkiozidis (LAP-AUTH) – Zenith measurements of NO2 and ozone derived from two UV/Vis miniature CCD spectrometers (Phaethon/Avantes) and one research grade system (Delta/Kymera-Pixis) operating at Thessaloniki, Greece. Data are available from 2018 to 2022 for Phaethon (007), since 2020 for Phaethon (008) and since 2022 for Delta (009). Phaethon 7 was validated during the CINDI-2, while Phaethon 8 and Delta 9 during the CINDI-3 campaigns.

U. Frieß (U. Heidelberg), R. Querel (NIWA) and Dan Smale (NIWA) – Multi-DOAS measurements of tropospheric and stratospheric trace gases since October 2008 using an in-house built dual channel UV/Vis instrument.

U. Frieß (U. Heidelberg) – Multi-DOAS measurements of tropospheric and stratospheric trace gases since February 2017 using a commercial Airyx Skyspec 2D UV/Vis instrument.

 X. Zhao (ECCC) - A SkySpec-1D instrument is deployed at Downsview Toronto, Canada since 2015. The instrument consists of a spectrometer unit that houses two spectrometers. With a prism telescope scanning in a range from 1 to 90 degrees elevation angles, the instrument observes UV-Visible spectra from 300 nm to 560 nm with a resolution of 0.6 nm.

J. Hannigan and I. Ortega and M. Coffey (ret) (NCAR) — Bruker 120M (250cm OPD) installed at South Mountain in 1999 in bldg. 1985, operating under autonomous control. Instrument was moved to bldg. 1971 (1km from previous location at same altitude) in Summer 2011. In May 2015 a new Bruker 125HR FTIR (also 250cm OPD) operating with new software control and new solar tracker was installed.

G. Vaughan (U. Manchester) – SAOZ system operated during the SESAME I campaign (February–April 1994). See entry in Section Ia under Aberystwyth, UK for further details.

M. Yela Gonzalez, O. Puentedura and M. Navarro Comas (INTA) — Zenith measurements of column NO₂ since 1995 with a grating scanning monochromator. Since 2011, MAXDOAS system has been operating for BrO and OClO. Since 2014, another MAXDOAS system has been operating for NO₂ and ozone. The scanning system will continue to take measurements until 2020 in order to overlap with those by the MAXDOAS systems. In 2017 joined NDACC. Data from 1995 to 2016 not yet archived.

S. Solomon (NOAA/ESRL) — Database taken by R. Sanders (deceased) from February 1991 through February 1994 in the NDACC archive.

R. Querel (NIWA) — Zenith sky DOAS, NO₂ column measurements since 1991 using a scanning grating monochromator. Two units operated in parallel, one at Scott Base, one at Arrival Heights. In 1998 a MAXDOAS UV/Vis spectrometer was installed and operated in conjunction with the University of Heidelberg.

In 2005 a UV/Vis Grating CCD array spectrometer was installed for measurements of BrO and OClO. In November 2013 the spectrometer was reconfigured (wavelength region expanded) to include spectral measurements to permit NO₂ retrievals. Operational data ends in 2020.  Some data archived under former PIs (Wood and Johnston).  Data through 2020 archived under final PI (Querel).
